Hoppy Easter, Everyone.
Gunner is celebrating “3 weeks” so he got his Bunny early. A new fur friend to keep him company. Someone for him to tell his story to.
It’s been a good week, overall. Gunner finally slowed his pace down some and is adapting very well to his new “style” of travel. He’s getting around the yard very well. He comes and goes easily as he needs to, without any obvious concerns. He’s settled in to a routine and much of the nervous excitement has passed. We’re back to the calm and lazy Gunner, once again!
Things are getting back to the new normal around the house. I’m even starting to relax a bit and accept things as the way it is now. Gunner told me that he is going to continue being Gunner, no matter what. He’s getting use to it and so am I.
Looking back is not a good thing. There is no point in it. It’s hard to believe it all now. Just three weeks ago and yet it seems like forever. We’ve come a long way, and it changed us all, forever!
Gunner and I came scratching at the the Tripawd door three weeks ago. We were lost, scared and hurting. We were facing a nightmare. You guys, gals and dogs opened the door and welcomed us in. You cared and you comforted us. You guided us and encouraged us. You gave us strength and the wisdom of your experiences.
Gunner and I thank you all so very much for taking us in! What a special place! We are so glad to have found you all. You truly helped us to find our way……..

Mom said Samson has to make nice with Gunner cause moms gonna have a NY tripawd pawrty this summer and Gunner only lives about an hr away. If hes not nice then Gunner might not come meet with me. Isnt Gunner cute? Not like my Monkeybutt brother Samson!

Gunner, I think you’re a Golden in disguise! No Sheppie I know is “calm and lazy”! We’re all about being neurotic freaks who MUST KEEP ORDER!
I still like you though. And my Mom says that if a Sheppie can be calm and lazy, it gives her hope that maybe some day I will be too!
